"Doing Business in India": DS Reality Film Production
Diversity
Spectrum Films will document Georgetown University Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) students as
they prepare, conduct, and deliver actual business consulting projects for
India-based companies, including Cisco and Infosys, during their Global Management residency module in Bangalore, India.
Spectrum Films
will capture the many challenges these corporate executives experience while working
on projects in different industries and in different cultural settings. Focus will be
given to individuals' and project groups' responses to the demands
placed on them to demonstrate diverse business skills, intercultural
understanding, and team-based solutions.
As the GEMBA students themselves represent multiple cultures,
countries, languages, and points of view, Spectrum Films will demonstrate
diversity in action and challenge often pre-conceived notions of what diversity
means. These webisodes will not depict “business tourism”, but give breadth and depth
to the real demands of leading, managing, and working in 21st
century global businesses.
Interactions
among GEMBA students, faculty, client companies, and host
institutions will be highlighted. Can people from very different cultural
backgrounds work together smoothly and effectively? What does it truly take to
lead in the 21st century?
Spectrum Films will produce webisodes that elucidate the following: (1) implications globalization and global
corporate responsibility, (2) cultural
differences in management and work styles, (3) differences in business and
social life, (4) skills necessary to communicate and negotiate with those from
different cultures, (5) application of skills, knowledge, and experience from the
classroom to "real-world" business projects and (6) manner in which
abilities are tested in team dynamics, strategic analysis, and project
management.
